James Williams Bsc (Hons) MCSP HPC MAACP

After graduating with a first class honours degree in Physiotherapy James worked within the NHS for four years gaining expertise in the fields of Sports Medicine, Orthopaedics, Spinal Outpatients and Pain Management. Since then he has specialised in sports injuries and musculoskeletal complaints working within private practice.

James’s expertise in the field of occupational health comes from his work with Merseyside Police, whom he has pro- vided physiotherapy support to since 2005. He was also invited to be physiotherapist for Sport England in 2003 for a national sports camp.

He is currently completing his dissertation for a masters degree in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, and lectures part-time on exercise- induced lower limb pain to post-graduates. James has developed a special interest in the management of pain and is a member of the acupuncture association of chartered physiotherapists.

Jo Armstrong Bsc (Hons) MCSP HPC MAACP

Jo qualified in 2001 with a first class honours degree in Physiotherapy. She soon specialised in the treatment of musculoskeletal problems and sports injuries working in both the NHS and private sector. Jo is also an accredited acupuncturist.

Jo’s work has taken her to New Zealand where she spent six months as a lead clinician. She has also travelled internationally with the English Handball Team as team Physio. Her work at home with the British male and female Handball teams has involved setting up a screening tool for the hopefuls for the 2012 Olympics.

Jo’s specialist interest is in the treatment of lower limb disorders and she has played a key role in a multi-disciplinary team specialising in the assessment and treatment of foot and ankle problems. Jo is completing a master’s module on the diagnosis and triage of lower limb musculoskeletal conditions.

Her occupational health work has been varied and has included the assessment and management of NHS Staff in an NHS setting, employees out on-site at a local mill and postal workers in a private clinic. Jo is also the clinical director of Bury Physiotherapy Ltd., which she has run successfully since 2007.

Duncan Mason BSc (Hons) HPC ACPSM

Duncan qualified in 1990 and worked in the National Health Service for many years. He has extensive experience, having worked with a wide range of patients and conditions, specialising in diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal pathologies. His work history includes Clinical Specialist roles in Upper Limb, Lower Limb and Spinal conditions, working closely with Orthopaedic surgeons.

Duncan specialises in the management of movement dysfunction. He has published a systematic review for the Cochrane Library “Rehabilitation of Hamstring Injuries” and has been invited to present his expertise at conferences internationally.

He is completing a PhD looking at the parameters of running gait in elite athletes and the effect of running injuries on biomechanics in the Gait laboratory at Salford University, where he currently lectures in Physiotherapy. Duncan is Lead Physiotherapist for the Manchester Phoenix Ice Hockey team and is a UK athletics team Physiotherapist

Jackie Mason BA (Hons)

Jackie is the business and HR manager for Therapists at Work. She is also the practice manager of Worsley Physiotherapy and Sports Injuries Clinic.

Jackie brings a business focused approach to the Therapists at Work team with experience as a Personnel Manager in Retail which gives her a good insight into the difficulties that companies face when managing absence. Jackie can empathise with the issues managers face when dealing with absence.
